is this guy really trying to argue that psu did not get destroyed in that title game? sir...read all the articles written by professional sports writers to the contrary. the game was a joke. knock off that garbage time TD in the last 2 mins and the spread is 21. and THAT wasn't even an indication of how big a blowout this game was. was a real beat down.

Look 2 ways...take away the garbage time td for LSU and it's still 14. The game was turned and sealed with the dropped TD pass by Robiskie and the blocked FG...wait...that didn't happen...LSU drove all over us at will and we didn't move the ball after the 1st quarter. Oh...I must have been dreaming that all of LSU's scoring drives were the result of turnovers or just horrible penalties after getting stuffed. The game was even...the buckeyes f-ed up...LSU capitolized...that was the game.

Garbage time TD for LSU? If i'm not mistaken, wasn't OSU's starting defense in the game? The drives were the results of turnovers, all of which LSU caused. A remarkable NFL type interception by Chevis Jackson. It's not LSU's fault OSU has a terrible quarterback in Boeckman. The game was in no way even, no game is even when you give up 31 straight points and 11 for 18 conversion on 3rd down. You know how little respect LSU had for OSU? Try going for it on 4th and 1 from the OSU 40, haha laughable. OSU just had a few big plays, they never consistantly moved the ball downfield. OSU didn't capitalize on anything and they didn't execute on squat after the 4th play of the game. As i said in earliar posts, this game would turn out to be just like the ND game and they would light up the scoreboard, looks like i was right since the score was 38-17 when OSU scored on all backups.

I love how all the Buckeye fans blame the loss on penalties and turnovers.  What they are missing is there so called #1 defense (only because they play NO ONE) gave up 31 that's right Buckeye Nation 31 unanswered points.  That is pathetic and if LSU would not of gotten conservative in the second half to run the clock your defense would of looked worse.  So grow up and be big boys and admit the real reason you lost was your defense was not good enough to compete with real playmakers....31 unanswered points......PATHETIC....

By the way we will just say LSU is better than the Big Ten because you embarressed yourselves again against us and no one can play with you in the Big Ten.....

This is why you are a superstar Roy...we love you. You LSU boys don't get my point. I am not taking away from the LSU win...they played excellent and the Buckeyes didn't. But the flow of the game turned on turnovers and penalties. LSU roared back after being down 10-0...then the Buckeyes responded with what should have been a scoring drive...should have been a TD drive...turned out to be a blocked field goal...which gave a big shift of field position an momentum, the LSU capitolized. Then the interception as OSU was starting to move again...big return...big score before the half. Then the big stop that is ruined by a roughing call on a near blocked punt...then a bonehead play by heyward...then LSU capitolizes again and the game is nearly out of reach. This Buckeye team is not built to come from behind...it's built to get a lead...run and protect the ball, and play defense. Roll just one of those bounces OSU's way...the game comes down to a final possesion at the end of the game. The Blocked FG drive was a 14 pt swing...huge. Either way though...Tressell's play calling still sucked. I haven't seen OSU run a screen or draw in 2 years.

Wow Mike you turned out to be a really bad sport Bro.  That's disappointing.  Thankfully people like Roy and bayoubengal can gloat without needing to be jerks about it.  It's called being a good winner, and it's just as important as being a good loser.

Like I said, if you were calling my team the best team of the BCS Era so far (as I did yours) I certainly wouldn't be trying to strong arm you into thinking we blew you out and taking TD's off the board to make the score look better.  I wouldn't ignore your team having more total yards on offense, and then say your team couldn't move the ball.

Who cares about OSU having more total yards "bro", they lost. They couldn't move the ball after the first what, 6 minutes. Beanie Wells got held to what, 28 yards on his last 13 carries "bro".  I'm not taking TD's off the board, but rather pointing out the fact that it wasn't as close as you make it seem since it was on a second team defense. Just like everyone is saying Kansas dominated VT, yet they only beat them by 4, or how Michigan dominated Florida but won by 6; both teams dominated and the score didn't give them justice for the domination. You can spew stats all you want about total yards for the game, how about total turnovers? 3-1 and a blocked kick. How about first downs, 25-17. I mean if were going to give stats how about this one: points on first team defense, LSU 38, OSU 17.

I'm with you.  I've "manned up" and eaten my crow.  I've given huge props to LSU and didn't make excuses.  The only thing I haven't done is called it a blow-out win, because it's not accurate to do so.

Great thread Roy.  Congrats to the LSU Tigers,  the only two time BCS Champs.  Time to move on to other things and bide my time with these sucky LSU avatars until signing day.

I'm glad you were at the game.  I'm sure it will be a great memory for you.  Being at the game however doesn't give you any more knowledge of what happened than me watching it at home.

I've continually praised LSU.  I've titled them the best team of the BCS Era.  I've openly admitted the SEC is the best football conference in 2006 & 2007.  I'm sporting a freakin LSU avatar for crying out loud to honor a wager when people said I would be absent from these boards if OSU lost.

What I don't understand is why LSU/SEC fans aren't happy with a strong win and need to label it a blow-out.  Saying LSU "destroyed" OSU. 

LSU "destroyed" Va Tech.  48-7 is a blow-out.  38-24 with LSU having 326 yards of offense to OSU's 353 is not a blow-out. 

The fact that LSU controlled the game after scoring 31 straight points would justify a blowout if LSU went on to win by 31 pts!  That's not what happened. 

The LSU defense did outperform OSU getting 4 more sacks and 1 more pick.  LSU also played a LOT more disciplined.  After being the most penalized team in the SEC they managed to rack up 3 less penalties for 47 less yards.  That's huge.  LSU also had seven and a half minutes more TOP, however they had 19 more rushes.  When you're playing from ahead at the end that tends to happen.

Sportswriters get paid to create storylines.  If people like Mike Freeman want to make insane comments to get someone to open their ears then I guess that's them doing their job, but for any objective fan to call the game a blowout is near sided at best.

Anyway congrats again on a good win.  A blowout?  Not so much.  Sorry if that makes you feel like I'm somehow taking something away.  It's just not reality.  If the situation were reversed and the losing team was calling my team the best team of the BCS Era I think I'd be pretty happy, rather than trying to convince him that we blew his team out.  That's just me.

They did, but LSU scored on the first team D while OSU scored on a 2nd team D, that is irrelevant either way. OSU got outplayed and outclassed.

Why are you spouting offensive statistics to prove that is was not a blow-out? Numbers don't mean anything as was apparant by OSU's 10.7ppg and #1 D coming into the game. OSU had a garbage D, not saying LSU's was better, but OSU had a pretty terrible defense and an even worse quarterback.

You don't have to convince me that LSU is the best team of the BCS era, numbers prove that; however, you do have to ,prove that to USC and their fans. Good game, great win now let's have a playoff.

I don't agree that LSU is the best team of the BCS era. I think it's USC if it's anybody. However, arguments can be made for USC, LSU, OU, and OSU. These 4 teams have constantly been in the mix and contend up to the final weeks every year. My hat's off to all 4 of these programs. Such a high level of excelency every year is tough.

If my Volunteers got their rear torn up like your team did Monday night, I'd not have any problem admitting we were dominated.  Let it go man, you know the game wasn't close to the numbers.  Hey it happens....  Tn had 362 yards of offense, 165 kick return yards, and averaged over 40 yds/punt against Alabama, and they smoked us 41 - 17.

OSU got smoked Monday night, let it go..... and I'd say the same to anyone else, if it had been any other team or conference.
