Foreigners need not apply.

Hell, I don't care if he's Iranian.  If he can put it thru the uprights, he's my new favorite player.

Skydog,
You had one heck of a run with this thread. Congratulations. I will have to admit that BamaRiz's post down below might be the funniest I've read in a very long time. Looking forward to January.

That BamaRlz is a laugh riot for sure!

And I totally agree with him.

Our kicking situation makes me long for the days of Leigh Tiffin.

Hot damn!   Number 14's in the bag.  AJ had a great game and the defense was incredible.  It's great to be a Bama fan.

Had to get 'em this year 'cause I don't think anyone touches them next season.

Incredible performance by Alabama tonight. As much as I hate to admit it, I/we as LSU fans need to give credit where credit is due and the simple fact is that Bama was the better team top to bottom. That was as dominant a performance as I can remember when it really counted. I felt like our defense played well, considering it was on the field most of the game and had no help from the offense, but that was a thorough pounding. Bama's play-calling on offense was brilliant. McCarron was much more than just a "game manager". For 5+ weeks all of the talk was how LSU was going to contain Trent Richardson and you guys really didn't even need to feature him to move the ball.

I can handle losing when you've competed hard. but it's a whole other deal when you're embarrassed by your play, and LSU's offense was embarrassing tonight. That being said, Alabama caused the majority of that embarrassment and you guys deserve credit for that. The way they closed off the edges on LSU's option absolutely put a lid on the entire flow of the offense and our coaches obviously have no confidence in Jefferson throwing anything other than bubble screens and quick slants, for the most part.

On a side note, and as a life-long resident of Baton Rouge and a Saints fan, I remember what it was like after Hurricane Katrina. I was lucky enough to have Saints tickets to the 1st game back in the Dome after Katrina when they played and beat Atlanta. That was one of the most emotional and inspiring things I've ever been a part of, much less sporting event. I admit, I hate losing to Bama. But, if there was going to be a team to win the national title, other than LSU, I'm glad it was you guys. I know from experience that winning this game won't rebuild any houses or bring any victims of that tornado back but maybe it can at least give some pleasure to some people who have gone through and suffered through so much.

Congrats and God bless. We'll see you next year in Tiger Stadium. SEC, SEC, SEC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at the bright side GeauxTigs.  The last time Bama won the NC, the Saints won the Super Bowl.  Maybe history repeats itself this season.

I dread going to BR to play y'all next season.  We lose so much off this team, and y'all lose two marginal QBs.  I can easily see y'all back in this game next season.

How in the world did this thread end up with just a 91 rating? There are 50+ pages and over a K responses, for goodness sakes. Must have been some powerful "we hate y'all" going on!

A class post from a true sportsman, Tig2. I thought that most people were underestimating Bama going into the game, but I don't think LSU was. It appeared Miles and the staff thought they needed something very different for that rematch, but the "very different" just didn't pan out as positive plays. I don't remember which one, but I remember one of the Bama defenders saying after the game that the plays they saw were NOT what they had primarily practiced against. On the other hand, the Bama staff did the same thing, moving from their run first philosophy to pass first. Both staffs changed their focus and rolled the dice, and Bama's came up seven.

You are correct that LSU's defense deserves a LOT of credit in that game. They spent a lot of time on the field, and a lot of time defending the red zone. A lesser defense would have seen the Bama score reach at least the mid-30s in that game. Your defense kept you potentially in the game until the point where time just ran out for your offense.

It was a shame it had to be two SEC teams, yet it was a blessing that two SEC teams were the class of the field this year. Let's hope we have to meet for the NC game again next year!

Geaux Tigers! Roll Tide!
