Rio has always projected higher than Rasmus. He is a stop gap for you. Internally you probably relish the idea of selling high on him before he gets hurt or starts underperforming once again like he has since St Louis had him in and out of their lineup.

Melk Man and Bautista are most certainly not a wash. You are aware of that.  One of them is entering his annual summertime Heat up and plays in a launching pad. The other has to do his raking in San Fran.

You have griped and griped about Buster Posey all year. Play Mcann and you're welcome for the flexibility that comes with an open roster spot. Chase Utley, Jacoby Elsbury, etc have all been taken off the undroppable list. Don't hold your breath on Buster Posey joining that club. His position is historically trash.

As far as the closers. Pittsburgh is set up to have a lot more close games than The Yankees. Hanrahan can't get saves when Pittsburgh scores 9 runs and rarely give up 4. History says this is an offensive blip. Hanrahan is proven. He put up 50 on you three weeks ago. Soriano was cast aside by Atlanta and what? the third choice after The Hammer of God got hurt?

I'm not twisting your arm here. All of the above is how I see it.

Looks like your going to be stuck with Buster longer than the Bluth family. There's always money in the banana stand.

I just love that you somehow believe that all of my players are either over performing or just on a hot streak while your players are the perfect buy low candidates.

Hanrahan for Soriano is a joke and I don't think there is a soul who would honestly say these two players are even close to being equal right now and especially the rest of the season.

Doumit for Posey is me basically saying that I would drop a Top 5 positional player for nothing...maybe I would if we were talking about McCann, but you want the better performing of the two

Rios and Rasmus are a wash (within 10 points of each other in YTD points) and looking at the last 28, 21, 14, and 7 days Rasmus has been a Top 10 OF (that equates to him being a #1 OF for those of you mathematically challenged)...the fact that I picked him up off the waiver wire this week is just me simply beating the rest of you to the punch.

Melky for Bautista straight up would probably pass muster with most here, but you want me to give you the better of three additional players as well...in the words of ESPN Monday Night Countdown...C'MON MAN!!!!

My depth is at OF (Willingham, Rasmus, and Bruce), C (Posey and McCann), 3B (Ramirez and Longoria), and SP if you can see past the fact that Halladay and Morrow are currently on the DL so I only have 5 available SPs at this moment.  In order for me to improve my hitting by adding a Top 20 batter, I can't give up Votto, Cabrera, Cano, or Pence...doing so would simply be making a trade for the sake of making a trade and though at times tempting, would not increase my chances of securing my 4th Straight Championship.

As for McCann/Posey being an anchor on my roster, my record is 8-3 (soon to be 9-3) and I've had these two all season long...all I can say is that my team must be more than strong enough to carry it.

You're right. King Kong's got nothing on you, yet you solicit trades 5 days a week.

I couldn't help but to notice that Joey Bats was top 5 in every timeline you mentioned regarding outfielders.

2 of my best pitchers are eligible at RP. I'll see you in the playoffs with Bautista, Trumbo, Rios, and Choo as my outfielders. I can start Trumbo at three different positions to stream whatever flavor of the week pops up.The same applies to Bautista. I have the number one AAA bashing 1st baseman stashed and poised to be starting in the premiere NL launching pad. Every field in that division is a hitter's park too.

These are reasons why I don't start my Monday through Friday begging for someone to take a player off my hands or asking for a 3rd baseman like a homeless man needing change.

You may mistake the above as hyperbole, but first name the only other team with a record vs our division as good as yours.

That's due to at times being bored at work more than anything else...also to see who is lurking about

No Shit****!!!  Why do you think I'm interested in trading for him?...just can't give up 3 additional starters to get him

These are reasons why I don't start my Monday through Friday begging for someone to take a player off my hands or asking for a 3rd baseman like a homeless man needing change.

I have Aramis Ramirez as my everyday 3B until Longoria returns in which case one will likely alternate with a few of my other bench players not named McCann/Posey being placed in the U slot.  Now I just want to add a Top 20 hitter without having to give up one in return...don't really care what position he plays.

You may mistake the above as hyperbole, but first name the only other team with a record vs our division as good as yours.

I know your team is good Frank (if it is good enough to beat me once, how could I honestly dispute that), but your teams problem is that like Dave's team it runs hot and cold.  This leads to a record much closer to .500 (you are currently 6-5) which then forces you to focus on YTD points scored since that will be the tie-breaker for two or more non-division winning teams tied in the standings.  Unfortuantely for you, as of right now you are 5th in YTD points scored so you better make sure you are on the Top 4 seeds based on record or you could be very likely be on the outside looking in.

To strengthen my argument about your team running hot and cold Frank, I have posted below the weekly points scored for our two teams along with win/loss in parentheses

Week 1:  Fred 146.0 (W)  Frank 137.0 (W)...this was a very short week and not indicative of the average

Week 2:  Fred 273.0 (W)  Frank 232.0 (L)

Week 3:  Fred 323.5 (L)  Frank 247.5 (W)

Week 4:  Fred 329.0 (W)  Frank 325.0 (W)

Week 5:  Fred 302.5 (W)  Frank 263.5 (L)

Week 6:  Fred 269.0 (L)  Frank 200.5 (L)

Week 7:  Fred 327.5 (W)  Frank 338.5 (W)

Week 8:  Fred 364.0 (W)  Frank 228.0 (L)

Week 9:  Fred 276.0 (W)  Frank 343.0 (W)

Week 10:  Fred 263.0 (L)  Frank 345.0 (W)

Week 11:  Fred 299.5 (W)  Frank 253.5 (L)

Excluding the first week, when I score 270 points or more I've only lost once and that was to Dave when his team went apeshit**** with Josh Hamilton and Carlos Beltran having career weeks.  The last three weeks my team has underperformed based on my goal of scoring roughly 320 points a week, but my actual points scored was so close to my average that I was able to win 2 of 3.

You on the other hand have scored as many as 345 points and as low as barely breaking the Mendoza line...almost 6 times scoring less than my lowest total while winning only one of those matchups.  My point is if you don't get some solid consistency to your weekly scoring soon, come playoff time I won't have to worry a bit about which hot waiver wire addition you just made.

Good Thursday Morning GB10, hopefully this is the last day this week of extreme Heat and humidity Undecided

No real news in the world of sports other than Jerry Sandusky deciding not to take the stand in his child abuse trial...not shocking to me, but if he is found guilty I bet he regrets that decision the rest of his life.

Austin closed the gap from 65 points to 37 points thanks in large part to the solid performance by Yu Darvish (28 points) vs the pathetic Padres...can't even remember the last time this team was good, but know it's not since Tony Gwynn retired.  Today he has starts from Matt Moore and Gio Gonzalez, but since they face off against each other I'm just hoping that balls are leaving the ballpark faster than a girl untagging herself from a picture that makes her look fat...not as funny as I was looking for, but will do in a pinch.

Here are some funny slow quotes I found while searching for a good fast one...lol

slower than an Amish drag race

slower than eating soup with chopsticks

slower than play-by-mail chess

slower than quadriplegic in a sack race

And finally my three favorites:

slower than a cucumber doing Calculus...immediately thought of Marty

slower than a geriatric slug on a salted snowed-in street...immediately thought of Dave

slower than a sleepy sloth...immediately thought of Bib

Have you fully bought into the Nationals yet or are you still waiting for the other shoe to drop?

What are your thoughts on RGIII and the Redskins chances of competing for a playoff spot?

Fred, I am sold on The Nats provided their pitching holds up.  Rumor is they will make a move soon for a catcher and a pitcher for a playoff run.  They are definitely a solid team.  As far as RGIII, i am not sure any single player is worth what they gave for him, even though he is worth all of the hype.  I am impressed with his maturity however to say that the Redskins will vie for a playoff spot is stretching is a little.  I think we are improved at QB and WR for sure but I still have questions about the big guys on both sides of the ball.

I guess I should ask you about Peyton as well but I am pretty sure what you are going to say.  I honestly was surprised that he went to Denver.  I thought he was going to sign in Houston right up to the very end.
