Yeah I little, I spoke to a writer from the Baltimore Sun and the Orioles really think highly of this kid, a def prospect. He mentioned that Xavier is a physical specimen and could of played football for Alabama. He is raw, very talented but most likely not ready. I picked him up so hopefully he proves that he is ready, might not be up for long though.

He's extremely fast, but his hitting and fielding will probably need a little work before he's major league material. He'll show flashes of brilliance and he'll steal a few bases probably, but he might make some rookie mistakes too. He's here to bat leadoff until Reimold gets off the DL, basically. That's my understanding.

His minor league number on this page are deceiving. The bottom stat line is early 2010, the one above it is late 2010- where he really struggled upon promotion to AA.

2011 at AA, 138 games, 259 ba., .324 OBP, 4 HR, 26 RBI, 36 SB, but 156 K's. 2012 at AAA, 33 games, .273 ba, .373 OBP, 5 HR, 16 RBI, 8 SB, 29 K's Improvement shown in all areas, but still has a high K rate.

Well, because CBS is useless at updating minor league stats, it doesn't show his 2012 stats in AAA Norfolk. In 33 games, his slash line is .273/.373/.469 with five home runs, six doubles and two triples and a perfect 8-0 in steals. Avery gets from home plate to first base on a bunt in 3.5 seconds. On top of that, in those 33 games, he struck out 29 times and walked 20. Avery has a chance to be just as good as Brian Roberts was if not better. Don't sleep on Avery.

Pefrect leadoff guy? Career .316 OBP in the minors. Career .265 avg who strikes out more than he gets a hit and doesn't like to walk? Who gets caught stealing 1/3 of the time? yea he's perfect alright.

what you see from almost every "football player": a weak arm.

usna89rules, if you focus on this year, splits are pretty good for both minors and majors. Watched him play and he's got some talent, especially spped. although he must've been a CB for football cuz he's pretty small. Made some pretty dumb baserunning plays too. Still, I'm taking a flyer on the guy with Jennings out.

He scores a run every night, and steals a base every other night. That's not bad, if he keeps that up.

yeah i used him last week. could be a sneaky stolen base guy. if he keeps getting on base a top the o's lineup he can keep scoring too.
