Prince on Braun: 'It's great news'

Posted on: February 24, 2012 9:09 am

LAKELAND, Fla. -- Prince Fielder's reaction to the Ryan Braun decision?

"It's great," Fielder said Friday morning at the Tigers' spring training camp. "It's great news."

Fielder and Braun were teammates for the last five years with the Brewers, but they're not close friends. Still, Fielder retains strong feelings for the Brewers, saying Thursday that he would like to see them go to the World Series, "and then lose to us."

Fielder said he hadn't spoken to Braun this winter, and hadn't closely followed the case.

"I have a life, too," he said. "I was trying to get a job there, for a while."

As to the question of whether Thursday's ruling should be enough to clear Braun's name, Fielder offered no real opinion.

"I don't know," he said. "Obviously, it says he's not guilty. He says he was innocent, so that's what it was."

Prince on Braun: 'It's great news'

Prince will continue to "juice" on his cheeseburger and pizza diet while Braun will be emboldened to continue his diet of testoterone-enhancing chemicals.

Prince on Braun: 'It's great news'

Gee Prince I'm sure it is great news to you. Opens up the door for all those, and you know who you are, to continue to partake with whatever drug your taking, and in the end get away with it. MLB is broke and won't get fixed until clueless Bud Selig is gone. Until then, keep doing what your doing and continue to make big bucks.

If you were expecting a lucid response from Prince, don't bother.  He's not a very good public speaker, probably never will be.  He's also very self-centered.  To even post this as a news item is pretty sad for CBS sports.

no it does not, it does mean that we have no evidence that says he was. the test was shown to be invalid. from what i hear, his lawyers brough a huge amount of experts and proved not only that the tests were false, but how that happened. with an invalid test, there is no reason to think he is guilty.

Winning his appeal does NOT mean he is not guilty.

Fielder makes himself look like a self-absorbed jerk. I didn't follow the case much becasue I was trying to get a job? Gee, Prince, was there a question as to you getting a job somewhere? You did nothing during the process except allow yourself to get wined and dined by teams that you and Boras never intended to sign with. Scott did ALL of the work. You just went along for the ride. I don't care that you were not friends with Braun, but he was one of the reasons for your success over the years and you might have been a little bit more interested in his case. And unless you actually saw or possitively knew for sure that Ryan was taking somethg, you should have shown him a little support.

Fielder doesn't sound too convincing, nor does he sound too convinced.
