Hanley Ramirez

By C. Trent Rosecrans

All the angst about Hanley Ramirez moving to third base? Apparently that's over.

"I never said I'm not going to do it," Ramirez told reporters at Marlins camp, including Tom D'Angelo of the Palm Beach Post. "I'm just happy to be here, be back in the spring with my guys, my teammates, everybody's happy. That's what we need. We got to stay together through the year. We're looking good. This is the best team I have been on in six years with the Marlins."

Ramirez took grounders at third base on Tuesday and said he should have no problems making the switch, necessitated by the Marlins' signing of shortstop Jose Reyes.

"Nothing at all," Ramirez said when asked what the biggest challenge would be. "Just catch the ball and throw the ball."

Marlins' Ramirez says he's fine with move to 3B

The question now is: when the time comes, will he ever re-sign with them to play third base?  Or will he go somewhere else to play shortstop, assuming the money is similar?

Hanley accepting his move to 3B is a nice story but the only way this team has a chance to win the division is if Josh Johnson makes 95% of his possible starts.

A ton of talent on this team, but a lot of fragile egos too.  Starting with the manager.
I say they implode after 1 month...Bill M

Bill M...you have a valid point...the pressure to win will be huge...the expectations will be huge...Buerhle, Nolasco, Zambrano...not so huge...unless you count shirt size...

Bottom line, Hanley is the most talented all around player in baseball and if he wants to be good at 3b he will, not that it matters cause Reyes is made of glass, injury will kill this team between Josh Johnson and Reyes, they better hope Stanton hits 50 this year, cause if for some reason HanRam is not on board it is time to trade him for a 3b and a pitcher...I bet the Mets would come off Wright for HanRam in a second if the offer came..ozzie is the wrong manager for this or any other team, he is more worried about being the center of attention than coaching baseball and HanRam runs this team...ask Ex-Coach Gonzales what happens when you F*ck with Hanley..you lose, and so will the Marlins if they cant play together.  Talent is all over this team, but the Red Sox could say the same thing last year.

Hanley could say he Ok with the move now, but by the time the season start we know for sure.

Hanley has played an few games at 3B in the minors, but that was 6 years ago
