How much money would you spend for someone's hair? What if I told you the person in question was a Major League Baseball superstar and the proceeds were going to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation?

Well, someone would have answered that question with: Ten Thousand, two hundred dollars.

Because that just happened. Reyes' hair sold for $10,200 on eBay Wednesday afternoon.

Reyes had to cut his long hair because the Marlins have a policy in place that forbids long hair. It's probably a bit antiquated, but whatever, they are paying Reyes over $100 million for the next six seasons. The haircut was broadcast on MLB Network last Friday.

In all, it's good that five figures are going to a great cause. I just can't believe someone paid any amount of money for hair, much less five figures, but to each his own.

Whats even more puzzling is that MLB had to bring Dean the Authenticator to verify the locks......

Players of sports are role models and people look up to these guys. its good to see that the integrity of baseball is kept by some teams in requiring such a thing...... back in the day people would wear shirts n ties and make it a family orientated event.. now you have women dressing disrespectful and guys using sporting events for a reason to go out and binge drink.....its a rule, follow it if reyes cared he should have looked at the team regulations before signing if its that important.....look at other things that are far more lucrative, yankees have a beard rule where you cant even have facial hair if you all go back to the jonny damon days............all aside its another good reason becuase if reyes does make the HOF the guy is sitting on a potentioal land mine of money, and they proceeds went to a good reputable orginization..........way to be cool about it jose, your loyal to your hair as you are to the team that brought you here to play ball, only to go where the money took you
