Only Bobby Abreau (2,247) and Miguel Tejada (2,118) have played more regular-season games than the Rangers' Adrian Beltre (1,959) without having appeared in a World Series. With the Rangers' Game 6 victory on Saturday, Beltre will have his name taken off that list. Adam Dunn (1,570) and Vernon Wells (1,524) have played the most regular-season games without a postseason appearance.

Our buddy David Fung takes a look at the World Series and postseason droughts from baseball's most experienced players:

Beltre to finally play in World Series

Baseball has always had two kinds of fans. Those who love the game, and follow one or two teams, and those who only care that their hometown team is playing. Sad to think that most people are casual fans, but the game needs both kinds.

Good luck to the Rangers and the Cardinals! I'm looking forward to watching the games - should be a great time.

Beltre to finally play in World Series

Looks like a great series for baseball, but as far as ratings I doubt anyone east of the Mississippi will even watch.  Don't get  me wrong, I'm happy for both teams and plan on watching Pujols, Hamilton and the rest of these guys square off, but it's by no means a dream match-up.  Texas wouldn't be part of any dream match-up.  I'm looking for Yanks-Cubs, Dodgers-Yanks, ChiSox-Cubs, Tigers-Cardinals - old school match-ups.  BTW - Rangers in 6.

"Glad for beltre , but another boring and low ratings series for MLB. ... "

St. Louis is one of baseballs best cities, Cardinals have a huge following and the Rangers are growing extremely popular as one of baseballs newest powerhouses.

This will be great baseball, a great series, and not boring at all.

Beltre to finally play in World Series

After my last post I thought to myself, "wait a minute, yeah the Phillies made the postseason but did Schneider see any action at all during the playoffs? I can't recall seeing him at/behind the plate." So I checked the box scores and sure enough he didn't sniff any playing time. Not one pitch behind the plate, not one at-bat. I stand corrected. Sucks for him.

Furcal can now be crossed of that list. Also, I'm not sure when this list was compiled, but Schneider played this October with the Phillies.

Glad for beltre , but another boring and low ratings series for MLB. ... Bet MLB is hoping that Milwaukee can come through either that or it is gonna rival the two worst rated series the angels and giants , and mets and yankees. For sure not much intrested in any of the teams left for most of the country
