Unlike Mike Cameron, Kevin Youkilis is still on the Red Sox roster. However, he will not be in the lineup against the Phillies' Cole Hamels on Thursday and has been replaced by Drew Sutton.
Youkilis fouled a ball off his left foot in Wednesday night's loss to the Phillies and said his ankle was still "throbbing" this morning. However, you can exhale Red Sox fans, X-rays taken this morning showed no damage, according to the Boston Herald.
"Hopefully it's just one day, get some treatment and get it going for tomorrow," Youkilis told reporters before the X-rays were taken. "We're hoping that it's probably nothing. Hopefully there's no bone damage, just swelling."
Youkilis stayed in the game even though he suffered the injury in the fourth inning last night. He fininished 0-for-3 with a walk.
