According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Span told trainers after Monday's game that he didn't feel 100 percent. He was checked out after the game on Friday and a concussion was ruled out.
Span missed the final two games in Kansas City before returning to the lineup last night, when he went 0 for 4. Span is hitting .294/.361/.385 with two home runs and 15 RBI.
The Twins, of course, have a right to feel snakebitten by head injuries, as Justin Morneau missed the second half of last season.
Still, as the Star-Tribune's La Velle E. Neal III points out, Span suffered from dizziness following an inner-ear infection in 2009, and this could be similar. For more baseball news, rumors and analysis, follow @cbssportsmlb on Twitter or subscribe to the RSS feed.
