Hot-hitting prospect Anthony Rizzo has been crushing the Pacific Coast League this season, and those poor pitchers might soon be given a reprieve. Rizzo is reportedly likely to be called up by the Padres sometime this week, and Marty Caswell reports that there's a "good chance" it will be Wednesday. Another good sign is the Padres are using Brad Hawpe in right field instead of first base Monday night.
Rizzo, 21, plays first base and was a key piece of the Adrian Gonzalez trade this past offseason. He's currently hitting .365 with 20 doubles, 16 home runs, 63 RBI and a 1.159 OPS through 52 games for Triple-A Tuscon.
