Webb struggles in first rehab start

Brandon WebbBrandon Webb was back on the mound in a real game for the first time in more than two years on Monday, pitching for Double-A Frisco of the Texas League.

Webb allowed five runs on eight hits in 3 1/3 innings, striking out two, walking two and hitting a batter against Tulsa, Colorado's Double-A affiliate.

According to Anthony Andro of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Webb hit 85 on the radar gun, but was more often around 83 or 84 mph.

Webb threw 32 pitches in the two-run first, and finished the game with 77 pitches, including 47 for strikes.

Man, this burning sensation in my knee ! Whew, take a deep breath, every one is counting on me. I gotta get it together. There he is. taking warm up pitches. I can't stand that half smirk on his face. I just want to wipe it off with a brillo pad ! Damn, 96mph. Its going to be a long night. _Play ball !!!!!!! Ok, its time. Maybe if I take a half step back I can at least get a grounder out of this prick. Strike one !!! Man ! I'm just gettin to old for this. Just to old. Ok, here it comes,,, Strike two !!!!! I'm not believing this. Lord please , just give me a piece of it.  Time out !!!! I gotta get a grip, I gotta do what I have always done. I gotta be a ball player ! Alright, bring it!!! Whack!!!!! The lord is my Shepard...
