Dodger Stadium fire moves fans in upper deck

File this one under things you don't see everyday. In fact, it's something I've never seen before. Due to a fire at Dodgers Stadium, ushers and security officers had to move a good amount of fans from the upper deck on the first-base side during Saturday night's Dodgers game against the Marlins. TV views showed fans being herded out in single file lines, presumably to seats in other areas of the ballpark, as it was far from full. All that could be seen of the fire in the views from inside the stadium was smoke and it was relegated to a small section in the aforementioned area, so obviously the danger faced by the fans was just from smoke inhalation, not from any actual flames.

The Marlins' broadcast team reported on the air that there was a fire at a Levy Food Warehouse, which is located above the "O" Lot -- coincidentally where the umpires park. It is not in Dodger Stadium, but is on the roof of the stadium above and behind the first base area.

Firefighters got the fire under control in the middle innings, and the game continued with the fans in the crowd (Joe Capozzi via Twitter). The Marlins won 6-1.

More nonsense happens at that despicable ballpark than any other field in MLB!  If that happened in Philly, they's have a field day.  More murders, beatings, stabbings, you name it.  All at the beautiful, pristine Dodger Stadium.  Move the team and burn it down.  It's a disgrace.  When you want to know what's wrong with America, you can easily find it in LA.

Don't count on it, chumpoco.  Maybe the owner will be contracted, but not the club.

You all know the cliche "when it rains..it pours." In other words, when bad things happen they just keep coming and coming. Having said that I bet the Dodgers wish that it really did rained heavily. Don't worry Dodger fans. Your team will be contracted soon.

Hey, rtf1, I'm also a Phillies phan.  Don't you get tired of all that nonsense that's thrown around about the people at our games?  Shouldn't that be a lesson not to throw around other nonsense about other ball parks and their fans?  Don't be a bad example of a Phan.

Dodger Stadium fire moves fans in upper deck

Hey, this is nothing.  In the mid-1970's, a small plane crashed into the upper deck of Memorial Stadium in Baltimore just a few minutes after he end of a playoff game between the Colts and the Steelers.  Fortunately (since the Colts lost and people moved quickly out of their seats), no one was killed--except maybe the pilot, I'm not sure about that.

When will MLB do the right thing and move this franchise out of that disgusting, nasty city?
This is unbelievable.  The Dodgers always rank among MLB's top attendance figures.  Even now, with a team full of "stars" like Aaron Miles and Jamey Carroll, with an outdated stadium, and with the owner's soap operaesque divorce being the most exciting part of the team, the Dodgers are still 9th in the league in attendance.  Last year they were third.  The year before, first.

Yet, there are geniuses calling for them to be moved.
