Don't look now, but the Arizona Diamondbacks -- picked by nearly everyone to finish last in the NL West this season -- have won 10 of their last 12 games and are above .500 for the first time since winning on opening day. A cursory glance at the box score Wednesday night would lead you to believe the hero was ace pitcher Ian Kennedy, as he worked eight innings and allowed just one run. Only he nearly lost the lead on the final batter.
Ty Wigginton lifted a Kennedy fastball to dead center field that would have tied the game, had it not been for D-Backs center fielder Chris Young's homer-preventing snag.

The D-Backs went on to shut down the Rockies in the ninth and win 2-1.
