Dodgers closer Jonathan Broxton has a bone spur and a bruise at the back of his elbow, but there's no structure damage, his agent tells Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times.
The Dodgers plan on waiting a couple of days to see how Broxton responds to rest before deciding whether to put him on the disabled list, agent B.B. Abbott said.
Broxton has struggled this season and didn't tell the Dodgers about his elbow stiffness until Wednesday, the day after he threw eight consecutive balls in the ninth inning, giving up a lead to the Cubs.
